Exciting developments

We never meant to take a month off blogging– honest (actually, now I look at the last post date, it’s more like six weeks). Sure, we took a break over the Christmas period, and then we were a bit busier in January than we thought we would be. But mostly we've been putting together a series of events for our first literary festival programme - as part of the Abingdon Arts Festival 2008. It's all very exciting. We have children's author David Melling teaching kids how to draw, and we've also invited back Judith Blacklock after her tour de force at the shop before Christmas. We are particularly excited to have Barbara Trapido headlining on March 1st at the Guildhall, Abingdon. The author of Frankie & Stankie, and Brother of the More Famous Jack, she will be reading from a new book she is currently writing. Roger McGough will be performing on the evening of March 15th - we haven't organised this, but we will be selling books at the event, and we have tickets for sale in the shop. There are still a couple of events we are finalising - but for all the latest news, visit out Festival page on the website. And for anyone out there who has been looking for an excuse to visit the shop, there might be an event to entice you to come to Abingdon...
